If you've browsed our PURIZE range and wondered what actually separates Regular, Slim and Xtra Slim filters — you're not alone. It's the question we get asked most often at The Headshop Cyprus, and the honest answer is: it depends on how you roll, not on which one is "better." Here's the breakdown.
Why PURIZE Filters in the First Place?
Standard cardboard filter tips do one job: give your roll-up some structure. PURIZE filters do that too, but add activated carbon in the mix — the same material used in water filtration and air purifiers. As smoke passes through, the activated carbon traps tar and other unwanted particles before they reach you, giving a noticeably smoother, cleaner draw. That's the baseline across the entire PURIZE range, whichever size you pick.
The Three Sizes, Compared
PURIZE Regular
The original format, and the widest of the three. If you roll thicker cigarettes or joints — think generous cones or European-style rolls — Regular gives the filter enough surface area to sit comfortably without pinching the paper. It's also the easiest size to handle if you're new to filter tips in general; more material to hold onto means less fumbling while you roll.
Best for: thicker rolls, beginners, anyone who prefers a firmer mouthpiece.
PURIZE Slim
The middle ground, and for most people, the default choice. Slim fits standard-width rolling papers without needing to overcompensate on paper width, and it's narrow enough to draw comfortably without feeling bulky. If you're not sure which size to start with, Slim is the safest bet.
Best for: standard-size rolls, everyday use, first-time PURIZE buyers.
PURIZE Xtra Slim
Built for slim and king-size slim papers, Xtra Slim keeps the whole roll narrow from end to end — no wide filter breaking up an otherwise slim silhouette. It requires a slightly more careful rolling technique since there's less filter to grip, but once you're used to it, it's hard to go back to anything wider.
Best for: slim/king-size slim papers, a more discreet, cigarette-like roll, experienced rollers.
Quick Comparison
| Filter | Width | Ideal Paper | Rolling Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular | Widest | Standard / King Size | Easiest |
| Slim | Medium | Standard / Slim | Easy |
| Xtra Slim | Narrowest | Slim / King Size Slim | Requires a bit of practice |
Our Recommendation
Match the filter to the paper, not the other way around. Rolling with king-size slim papers and a Regular filter is the most common mismatch we see — the filter ends up too wide for the paper, and the roll doesn't hold together well. Check the paper width you already use, then pick the filter size that lines up.
Still unsure? Start with Slim. It's the size that works with the broadest range of papers, and almost every PURIZE customer we've spoken to either starts there or ends up there after trying the other two.
